It usually takes about 4 hours to go through the class and pass your test. Then all you have to do is shooting qualifications which are simple shooting exercise. You will follow simple instructions, load and fire on command. You will fire at 3 yards, 7 yards and 15 yards for a total of 50 rounds into a life size target. Obviously you can’t shoot online but you will be instructed where to find and LTC instructor in your area to satisfy that portion of licensing. It is actually difficult to fail the shooting portion.
With proper instruction, nobody will be disqualified by pointing a gun at someone on the range. I’m sure you will do fine even if it is your first time shooting a gun. That is what the course designed for, to get you the minimum requirements but the maximum education you need to protect yourself from the Law.
The law is a two-edged sword, able to cut both ways when someone breaks the rules. But the rules are easy too, you don’t have to be a lawyer to understand and apply the information.
